Must See Sites!
The Angelcheeks Foundation This is such a wonderful cause, something that I'm really trying my best to get the word out about. This foundation helps grieving parents who have had the misfortune of losing a child at such a young age. SIDS is a horrible fatality and it really bothers me how not enough is being done. Not enough is being said. People don't really talk about it, so they don't think about it. Please visit the site and make a donation today!
Therepeutic Living Centers [TLC] Another wonderful cause, a center that helps impaired. Helps people who have lost their sight or have physical and mental impairments become independent again. It's so wonderful because these wonderful people can come to this place and live again because it's theirs.
The Angelcheeks foundation was founded by Brian and Andrea Nessel after suffering the loss of their son due to SIDS. This foundation helps in assisting families who suffer the tragedy of losing a young child.
Evan's Story
Evan Alanson Nessel was born healthy into the welcoming family of Brian, Andrea, and big brother Cameron Nessel on September 13, 2006.All it took to get Evan to smile was to simply make eye contact with him. His eyes would light up and his angel cheeks were immediately pierced by his deep dimples. He loved watching his family, feeling his daddy's beard against his skin, rocking with mommy, taking baths, being a patient while big brother played doctor, and laying in his crib at night watching his animals float above his head in his mobile. But his smile is still what everyone remembers most.
On February 27, 2007, Andrea went to daycare to pick up Cameron and Evan, and was looking forward to a quiet evening at home together as a family. When she arrived, Evan was napping as he usually was at that time of day, safe in his crib. When they went to wake Evan, however, he had passed away in his sleep. Life saving efforts went on for over 30 minutes but Evan was gone. It was later determined that SIDS took Evan's life that day.
The Angelcheeks Foundation
This wonderful foundation was created after Brian and Andrea Nessel lost their youngest child Evan to SIDS [sudden infant death syndrom]. The Nessel's were able to memorialize their son in way that was able to truly honor him, because they had life insurance for Evan. This foundation helps in providing grieving families grants to parents and gaurdians who do not have life insurance. Because of this foundation, their loved one can be truly memorialized in a way that fits that persons spirit, and not have to worry about expenses.
The Angelcheeks Network
Why do I support the Angelcheeks Foundation?
I support the Angelcheeks Foundation because I think that it is such a wonderful cause. I do not have any children, but when I heard about this foundation it was like a wake up call. If one day I do chose to have a child, the first thing that I will keep in mind is having life insurance for my child. Thanks to Brian and Andrea, I now have more knowledge and the necessary precautions that need to be taken, in cause this horrible fatality were to happen to me or to a loved one in my life.
I remember in high school when I first heard about SIDS, I had no idea what it was. Then I learned what it was, pretty simple, for no apparent reason an infant suddenly dies, in their sleep. That was the short and condensed version that I was told. I didn't understand it, and I really wasn't told much more than that because we don't know. We just don't know enough, not enough research can be done. I have a young cousin who is three months old, and when I first learned about this foundation I immediately thought of her. What if something like this were to happen to her?
I whole heartedly support this foundation. It is such a wonderful cause and I am going to do whatever I can to support it, and to help get the word out there about this wonderful foundation.
How Can I Help?
There are a few ways in which you can help:
First educate yourself. I think that it is very important to be educated on this subject and take the necessary precautions such as getting Life Insurance for your children in cause the unexpected tragedy should happen. Spread the word Help in telling the world about Angelcheeks. This foundation is so wonderful in helping those who are grieving after suffering the loss of a young child. And now Angelcheeks has a new section to the site; The Angelcheeks Network. This network helps in connecting people who have similar experiences communicate with each other. This is such a great addition to the website, I encourage all those who have suffered a tragedy like this, to join the network. DONATE Like all wonderful causes, all donations are greatly appreciated. As I said before, not enough research can ever be done, and to do that funds are needed. So please, please, please donate! All funds will be used to help families around the world who have suffered a tragic loss of losing a young child. You can make a donation online, or by mail. So please donate! Together we can all save a life!!
Together we can all save a life, and end SIDS forever!!!
